Dr Eddy Strivens

Dr Eddy Strivens is the Regional Geriatrician and Clinical Director for Older Persons, Subacute and Rehabilitation Services in Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service in Far North Queensland.
Eddy is also an Adjunct Associate Professor with James Cook University School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Eddy is a Federal Councillor with the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine and Chairs the Policy and Planning Committee. He is also the Co-Chair of Queensland Health’s Statewide Dementia Clinical Network and contributes to a number of other local, State and National groups.
Clinically, Eddy is based in Cairns and his medical interests include dementia in acute care and regional outpatient memory clinics, as well as the medical management of delirium and BPSD’s.
Eddy’s research interests include Dementia in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities and Models of Service Delivery, including Telegeriatrics, and he has set up services to provide diagnostic and dementia management service to remote communities in Cape York.
